What we create.
We are a highly creative team of design professionals who provide Landscape Consultancy services for all types of Projects. Our true passion lies in providing “unique” and “out of the box” design solutions for Landscape destinations across all sectors. We strongly believe every project should be treated on an individual basis with it’s own design character, approach and story of how it came to be. Our leadership team has collectively been in the region for more than forty years and has a wealth of experience designing unique Landscapes which create meaningful experiences and connections for people.
Public Realm design encompasses a wide range of spaces which allow for close engagement with the general public. Public Realm Landscapes are a constant in our daily lives and facilitate unique and meaningful encounters between people and Landscape.
Public Realm Landscape is present on almost every project as even projects such as Hotels and Residential Schemes still have connections to the wider context such as streetscapes and adjacent open spaces and we understand the importance and significance this has on the design process.
SCLA have extensive experience of working on Public Realm Projects and understand the strategic design approach required to deliver successful public open space. Below are Public Realm Schemes we’ve designed;
• Uptown Infrastructure Works, Dubai, UAE;
• DGDA Exhibition Centre, Riyadh, KSA;
• Qiddiya Performing Arts Centre, Riyadh, KSA;
• Yas Waterworld Phase 2, Abu Dhabi, UAE;
• Jeddah Corniche, Jeddah, KSA;

Hospitality Projects provide a unique opportunity to create landscapes which are one of a kind and effectively become “gardens” for guests who are staying in the Hotel. People often spend multiple nights in hotels and having a Landscape which people can connect with and feel comfortable in is an integral part of the overall Hotel experience.
Hotels are places where people go to disconnect from their daily lives,
re-charge their batteries and un-wind. Landscape is a key part of the Hotel experience as the reality is people are only in the Hotel building to eat and sleep. It is essential that the Landscape can provide the platform for these basic human needs whilst leaving a meaningful impression on the guest.
SCLA have extensive experience of working on Hotels which includes luxury inner city urban Hotels through to expansive six star beach resorts spanning vast areas. Below are a sample of Hospitality Projects SCLA have delivered;
• Four Seasons Beach Resort, Muscat, Oman;

Retail spaces often form part of larger projects and are a way of activating Architectural interfaces with the Ground Floor Landscape plane. SCLA have extensive experience of working on a wide range of Retail schemes whether standalone Shopping Malls or areas of Retail which are part of larger schemes.
SCLA strongly feel that Landscape associated with Retail projects should be considered an integral part of the Retail experience. External areas which provide for Dining, Socialising and Performances compliment the overall experience and are a huge factor in successful “Place Making” which is often the difference between success and failure on such Projects.
Below are examples of Projects where Retail has played a significant role in the overall Concept and philosophy for the Landscape design;
• Uptown Phase 2, Dubai, UAE;
• Jeddah Corniche, Jeddah, KSA;
• Quayside, Muscat, Oman;
• Marina Precinct, Muscat, Oman;
• Retail Hub Phase 2 & 3, Dubai, UAE;

SCLA have been responsible for delivering an extensive range of Commercial schemes throughout the GCC. Landscape has become a key part of the workplace environment and we consider it an essential requirement that Office Workers have access to green space throughout the day.
Commercial Projects are often located in highly urban areas and having pockets of greenery and access to Landscape can have a huge mental and physical benefits for Office Workers. Landscape can provide areas for external uses such as Dining, Co-working, Socialising and Wellness activities which have become important requirements for a healthy work environment.
Below are Commercial Projects for which SCLA have provided Landscape
Architecture services;
• Uptown Phase 2, Dubai, UAE;
• Quayside Commercial Offices, Muscat, Oman;

with vision.
Parks provide the general public with essential access to Landscape and are extremely important spaces as part of our growing cities in the GCC. Parks provide the platform for Landscape led interactions and become routine meeting points for a wide range of people.
Parks are spaces we all visit for a wide range of reasons and are a fundamental part of any Neighbourhood or City open space network. They are Landscapes rich in diversity and function and can cater for all age groups and social typologies whilst becoming a key part of an area’s economy and supporting Developments including Infrastructure and Construction.
SCLA place a huge degree of value on Park Landscapes following the
Pandemic and believe any open space should be designed like a park whether small or large. Below are examples of Projects SCLA have been involved with which have contained Park Elements;
• Uptown Infrastructure Works, Dubai, UAE;
• Madinat Jumeirah Living Elara, Dubai, UAE;
• Jouri Hills, Dubai, UAE;
• Quayside Park, Muscat, Oman;
• Qiddiya Stadium Precinct Residences, Riyadh, KSA;

Educational Landscapes are key in shaping the minds, values and development of children and the learning benefits associated with access to green space are significant. Children interact with Landscape and see the world in a very different ways to how adults do it’s our responsibility, as designers, to try and understand this mindset when designing for little people.
At SCLA, we also see Educational Landscapes going far beyond Schools, any project which is expected to be accessed and used by Children provides a an opportunity for us to inject interesting and interactive elements which Children can engage with and create meaningful connections with the Landscape which help to shape and guide their Development.
Below are Educational Projects and Projects whereby SCLA included specific design features tailored to Children;
• Riyadh Schools, Riyadh, KSA;
• Balghaiylam Schools, Abu Dhabi, UAE;
• Jayasom Wellness Children’s Spa, Red Sea, KSA;

Sine the pandemic, Landscape has become a significant area of focus for Residential Projects and is now often seen as the key selling point. Whether a Villa Scheme, Apartment Tower or Luxury Beachfront Residences, Landscape has a key role in providing community focused open spaces for Relaxation, Wellness, Socialising, Recreation and Fun!
SCLA have extensive experience of working on a wide range of Residential Schemes and understand the requirement to provide residents with an inside-outside living experience throughout as much of the year as possible.
Landscape can often be present on a range of levels including Ground Floor and Podium conditions and each level requires different design and delivery related considerations. Below are a list of Residential Projects SCLA have worked on since our formation in 2022;
• Madinat Jumeirah Living Elara, Dubai, UAE;

Cultural Projects provide a unique set of challenges which require a highly sensitive design approach to develop a Concept with deeply rooted meanings spanning National or even International reach. Our in-house design approach is tailored to such an approach as the research stage of the process is key to understanding the Project in detail and extracting the influential factors which will drive the ideation of the Landscape Concept.
At SCLA, we understand how the Concept of these Projects is far more than an idea, it’s the detailed interpretation of an idea which informs the selection of the Hard Landscape, Plant Species, Furniture and any aesthetic component of the Landscape. Cultural Projects require a light touch and respectful design approach which SCLA are well versed in.
The below list of Projects are examples of where SCLA have had to consider past, present and future Cultural design considerations;

• Treehouse Hotel, Riyadh, KSA;
