Quayside.

Muscat, Oman

Creation Description.

Quayside was SCLA’s very first project back in 2022 so is very close to our hearts! SCLA were appointed by Kettle Collective to provide Concept Landscape Design services for a mixed use project as part of the wider Al Mouj Masterplan in Muscat. The plot was in a unique location adjacent to the famous Marsa Plaza and included assets such as a F&B Marina Promenade, Office Podiums and Residential Amenity Podiums. The Architectural design language was geometric and rigid in form and combined with the close adjacency of Marsa Plaza, it was only natural for the landscape to compliment this.

SCLA developed a design philosophy whereby feature paving and banding would be used to tell a story in the landscape and define the various functions which would occur on the Ground Floor plane. Elements such as Water Features, Feature Planting, Shade Canopies and Sculptural Elements would be holistically woven into the paving pattern as to create a unified and visually connected landscape.

The Residential and Commercial assets of the project both provided podium level amenity and garden decks. The office deck contained passive garden spaces which included an F&B Pavilion and external Co-Work spaces which provided office workers with access to green space all year round. The Residential podium deck contained an infinity edge Pool, a Sunken Games Zone, Fitness Deck and Pétanque Courts and other passive games for Residents to enjoy.
