Arabian Ranches Mosque.

Creation DESCRIPTION.

Located within the established residential community of Arabian Ranches 1 in Dubai, the Arabian Ranches Mosque is conceived as a place of worship that integrates thoughtfully with the existing site conditions. The Landscape design focuses on creating a tranquil and welcoming place of worship, balancing the functional requirements of a contemporary mosque with a sensitive response to the existing site conditions.

A key philosophy underpinning the design was the retention and integration of existing trees within the proposed Landscape design. Rather than treating the existing vegetation as a constraint, the design embraced the mature trees as defining elements of the Landscape, helping to establish a sense of continuity with the surrounding community and preserving the established character of the site. The random location of the existing trees would work as an interesting contrast to the formality of the Mosque itself and the associated landscape Plaza spaces.

The arrival experience is organised around a series of Landscaped spaces that provide clear access to the mosque while creating a welcoming transition from the surrounding residential environment. Parking and pedestrian circulation are carefully integrated into the overall design, with planting and retained trees helping to soften the built environment and provide shade where possible.

The external worship areas extend the mosque's functional capacity beyond its interior, accommodating additional congregation space within a considered Landscape setting.
A combination of water features, terraced planting and Landscaped steps addresses the changes in level between the mosque and the surrounding site. These elements transform a practical topographical challenge into an opportunity to introduce visual interest, create a gradual transition between spaces and establish a more natural relationship between the architecture and its setting.

The water feature provides an additional layer of tranquillity, complementing the contemplative nature of the mosque and enhancing the arrival experience. Through its emphasis on tree retention, sensitive level integration and clearly defined arrival spaces, the Arabian Ranches Mosque Landscape establishes a respectful and enduring setting for worship.
