Creation Description.

The La Mer by Elie Saab Project was located on Marjan Island in Ras al Khiamah and was a multi-tower luxury branded residences project offering premium beach front living. SCLA were appointed to provide full Landscape Design services and developed the concept for the landscape taking inspiration from the organic and natural forms of the Ras Al Khaimah coastline and mangroves. We experimented with how these natural forms could be interpreted to compliment the organic architectural forms of the towers and provide fluid and dynamic landscape forms.

The project included resort style amenities such as a Private Beach, Infinity Pool, Cinema Deck, External F&B Areas and Beach Front F&B Dining. The pool deck was the centrepiece of the landscape and the main leisure pool projected onto the beach to create a unique experience for residents. The pool zone was purely focused around relaxation and creating ambient and peaceful spaces for residents. On the upper levels there were a series of sky gardens which would create communal gathering spaces which contained amenities such as Social zones, Co-Work spaces, BBQ areas and outdoor Cinema’s.

The planting scheme was critical to the project’s success and from the minute a resident arrived at the lobby plaza through to when they step onto the beach, lush resort style planting seeked to reinforce the overall feeling of luxury associated with the project. SCLA looked at every space of the project as a different experience and carefully selected plants that would enhance and compliment the experience of each space.
